The length of time that you'll study at a beauty school is dependant on many things. You'll need to know how many hours of time you'll need to invest as required by state standards. You also need to learn the amount of time that you can give to your education weekly.

Part of your education in beauty school will be to learn how to work with customers. You'll learn how to develop good customer service skills and how to develop a following of local customers that will follow you wherever you go. Most schools will teach you customer service, too.

Beauty schools provide several key types of learning. For the first weeks, you'll learn strictly book learning. This means learning about the body and the skin. From there, you'll get to work on manikins until you have the skills for hands on training in the salon and with real clients.
