If you are going to use a math tutor you may want to see where it is the child will be working. If it is a private facility you will want a tour and to see what if any materials that they will be using to aid your child in their learning. Look at where a private tutor is working as well.

See if the math tutor that you will be hiring is certified, or has any references or credentials to show you that will make the decision easier for you and the child. You want to work with someone who is experienced as a tutor and who has achieved success with other students.

Try to determine what math tutor will work best for your child. It may be that your child learns best from working the problems out on the computer. Some may find it is better to use a person that will explain it one on one as opposed to the traditional classroom setting.
